Rally Plans

Who will be speaking at your rally?:
The head of Buckle Up For Bobby, Our Mayor, and I will be reading a letter from our governor.
Who will be attending your rally?:
All of Lake City High School, local businesses, police officers, and interested citizens.
What activities do you have planned?:
For our rally we have planned to shut down the road in front of our school. The road is called Ramsey Road and it is a very busy street. The plan is to shut it down in front of our school for a few hours to put on a street fair. Our motto is "take back the streets for safer teen driving". The few hours the road will be shut down will be to symbolize if an accident had happened, to due distracted driving, what the effect would have on traffic. At this street fair we are getting in touch with the Municipal Department of our local government in order to have street vendors set up to play games with people and teach them about driving regulations. We shall have police officers performing distracted driving tests in our school parking lot. Along with al of this stuff going on, we are also going to have a stage where our guest speakers will be talking about personal experiences with distracted driving and how better regulations and better self-care can save lives. We shall have a lot more planned for this in days to come, but as of right now we have a solid plan to literally "take back the streets". Our community already knows of the dangers of distracted driving because of the Act Out Loud last year, and we are hoping to gain national recognition for this problem this year. We have all personally seen and heard about people who have been harmed from distracted driving.
Have you contacted the press?:
Not yet, but we plan on contacting them once we get back from our state competition next week.
Have you reached out to a local Allstate Agent to ask them to participate?:
No, but this is a good idea. Thank you.
